Norfolk Native Reggie Prevail and Prevail Group Bring Free AI Workshops Home to Hampton Roads
Partnership with Dream Machine Innovation Lab and Chime aims to close the technology gap and keep Norfolk residents in the conversation about the future of work and business.
NORFOLK, Va. — May 2026 — Reggie Prevail, founder of Prevail Group and a 757 native, has partnered with Dream Machine Innovation Lab and Chime to offer free artificial intelligence workshops for Norfolk residents. The effort, recently featured by WTKR News 3, is designed to help close the technology gap and make sure Hampton Roads residents are not left out of the conversations shaping the future of work and business.
For Prevail, the work is personal. Years of travel, including time in Silicon Valley, South America and the Middle East, showed him who was and wasn't in the room when the future was being planned.
Rather than accept that reality, Prevail came home determined to give his community a seat at the table. That vision became a collaboration with Dream Machine Innovation Lab and Chime: free workshops that help residents understand how AI is changing work, business and everyday life.
Inayah Bashir, director of Dream Machine Innovation Lab, said the partnership was built around a shared goal of keeping communities informed. Organizers see practical AI skills as a pathway to opportunity, for students just getting started and for longtime workers adapting to a changing world alike.
For Prevail, success isn't measured by how much one person learns, but by how many people benefit. He also sees AI adoption as something that can bring generations together: "The next five to ten years you see the older and younger actually come together a little bit more."
The workshops are free and open to Norfolk residents. Participants are encouraged not only to build their own knowledge, but to share it with friends, family and the broader community.
“Everything I know is here. During my travels over the last five years, Silicon Valley, South America, the Middle East, every time I heard anybody plan the future, I never saw many of us in the room. I want to bring this mentality, this mindset, from Silicon Valley to Norfolk, Virginia. I want to put my people in position to win.”
“Dream Machine Innovation Lab and Chime came together on this program so that we could inform people about how AI is not only changing our economy and our world, but also how it is changing ourselves. We want to make sure that underestimated communities can really take advantage of this next economy. People are building multimillion-dollar companies alone using AI, so imagine what we can do when we give those tools to people who are creative and thoughtful.”
